Total Fitness Nutritional Systems is excited to have you as a part of our program. Since we provide all of your meals except breakfast, many of you are asking for some breakfast ideas so that you don't stray on the most important meal of the day! The breakfast meal should be balanced with a protein and a carbohydrate. Try to avoid fruit juices - they are loaded with sugar. Stick with fresh fruits, and use them sparingly. Every carbohydrate should be whole grain. This is the meal that gets your metabolism fired up for the day. 

Carbohydrate Choice Protein Choice
  • Oatmeal
  • All bran cereals
  • Cream of wheat/cream of rice
  • Whole wheat toast
  • Whole wheat English muffins
  • Whole grain pancakes
  • Whole grain waffles
  • Whole grain cereal - like Kashi Crunch
  • Grits
  • Egg whites
  • Egg beaters
  • Natural peanut butter
  • Protein shakes
  • Morning star sausages
You can use vegetables to make omelets, and also fat free cheeses. You may also use Splenda, cinnamon and other spices to make it more tasty. Use sugar free syrup for pancakes.


Here are a few tasty combinations
  • 1/2 cup of oatmeal (before cooked) - add cinnamon, Splenda, chopped 1/3 of an apple. Microwave, and then add 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder and mix up.
  • 5 egg whites cooked with 1/2 cup of mushrooms, peppers and onions, fat free cheese rolled in a whole wheat wrap.
  • Whole wheat English muffin with 1 tablespoon of natural peanut butter and a protein shake
  • 2 slices of whole wheat bread with 4 egg whites and a morning star sausage.
  • 1/2 cup of oatmeal with cinnamon and Splenda. Microwave, then add 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder and a tablespoon of natural peanut butter.
