and specializes in group training.

Dani Pollard:
Fitness Director/Owner
Welcome and thanks for visiting our site! I am an ACE certified personal trainer with a background as a registered nurse. I have lived in Fort Walton Beach since 2000 and I love the area and the beautiful beaches. Philip and I have a beautiful family of five little girls. My nursing background includes in-patient rehab for orthopedic procedures, pediatrics, med-surg, and home health care. I have always been interested in sports and fitness, so when we opened Total Fitness Gyms, I felt completely comfortable with switching gears from caring for patients to training my clients. I also manage our group fitness classes, which consist of seven different programs through Les Mills and Madd Dog Athletics. We have such an amazing group of instructors for our programs! I am sure you will love them just as much as we do. In addition to the fitness component at our facility, we also offer a great nutrition program for people who need that additional help losing weight and staying healthy.
TF Nutrition Systems is also a great program for people who know how to eat right but just don’t have the time. All meals are fresh and prepared weekly for pick up. Please feel free to call Philip or I at anytime if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you in the gym!

La'Derrick Harmon:
Personal Trainer
Hello, my name is La'Derrick Harmon and I've been a personal trainer for 5 years and going.
During my high school days is when I truly broke out of my fitness shell. Football, basketball, track, and weightlifting were the sports that I participated in.
By the time I graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 2002, I was
the strongest pound for pound athlete ever recorded in the school or City of Fort Walton Beach.
I won 1st Place State Male champion in weightlifting. During my weightlifting career, I went to state three straight years, once in both basketball and football (FHSAA playoffs).
Currently, I hold over 22 school, county and former State of Florida FHSAA records in weightlifting.
Officially, at the age of 18 years old, I started personal training in Tallahassee Community College. Over the years, I have been truly blessed with high name clients
early in my career. Two months into training, I had my 1st college star client, former FSU and NFL Tennessee Titan Rookie Chris Davis. In addition, I had the pleasure of training
my first NFL client, former FSU Seminole, Jauan Howard.
Currently, I am ISSA certified (International Sports Science Association). Owners, Philip and Dani are truly an angelic blessing to me.
Since joining Total Fitness Gyms in 2007, I have trained somewhere around 200-250 people. I truly love people and my God is highly active in my life. With training, I get to help change
people's lives for the better and it is so rewarding to me.
I do all types of training (group, 1ON1, athletic, endurance, elder, youth, etc). If you are up to the challenge, contact me for a free consultation.
Thanks and may God bless you with great health!
"Get it right, get it tight!"

Dee Carr: Group Fitness Instructor
I have been a Group Fitness Instructor since March of 2001. I am certified in RPM, BodyCombat™, BodyFlow™, and BodyPump™. Currently I teach
RPM™, BodyCombat™, and BodyFlow™ and have completed the Advanced Instructor Module with Les Mills. Group fitness classes feed my spirit and keep me energized. I’ve always been active in sports and love to socialize, so it was a natural transition into group fitness from the corporate world after the birth of my first child in 1996. Now a mother of three, I realize even more how important it is to stay active and healthy for a quality life, not only for me, but for my family too. My fitness philosophy: “When you physically sweat, you mentally cleanse”. Let’s keep those minds clear and bodies strong. Join me in the fight against the sedentary lifestyle! See you at the gym!

Michelle Dukes: Group Fitness Instructor
I have been a group fitness instructor since April of 2004. I am currently certified in BodyAttack,
BodyStep™, BodyPump™ and Resist-A-Ball. I initially got back into working out because I had baby weight to lose. Once I began to routinely workout my instructor friends inspired and convinced me to try certification to become a teacher. I did and LOVED it! I have been teaching ever since. As a mother of two, I know how valuable time is and how important it is to stay motivated, so I do my best to teach a class that is packed with high energy, motivation, and lots of options. Looking forward to seeing you all in class. Leave your stress at the door and come have some FUN!

As a Registered Nurse, I know that our health is one of our greatest assets.

I felt when I was active. I believe in fitness and have made it a part of
my life. I enjoying trying new things and have been involved in cycling,
running, swimming, body building, kayaking, and yoga. I entered my first
Triathlon at age 44. By being active, I have met some of the most wonderful
people and I like to say I have found some on my best friends on a bike or
in the gym. In 2004, I had an opportunity to try something I had never done
before...become certified to teach a group fitness class. I absolutely love
helping others find the joy and benefits of living a healthy and fit life.

Tonya Castleberry:
Body Pump and Body Flow Instructor
Welcome to Total Fitness, the best gym in town! I am an instructor of BodyPump™ and BodyFlow™ and have been for about four years. I starting going to classes to meet more people and to become fit and happy with myself. I really had a great time doing so and starting talking to some of the other instructors. They made it sound like a lot of fun, imagine, getting paid to exercise, how cool is that! I looked into it and soon became certified in BodyStep™ and then
BodyPump™ and then Flow. It is a great feeling to have such an impact on people’s lives; if they don’t like the class, they might not come back to try others, and we can’t have that. I would love to have you come and try a class, you never know, maybe in the near future you will be in my same shoes. See you soon!

Brian McMahon: Spin Instructor
I have been teaching spin for 3 years. I started spinning over 4 years ago as an alternative to road cycling and to tune-up for mountain biking. It was also a great cross-training workout to augment my running regimen. My spin instructors convinced me to get my certification because, as they put it, “You have so much energy and aren’t shy in front of people”. I started teaching spin at Eglin AFB Fitness Center and also helped out at Hurlburt Field. I’ve been with Total Fitness Gym since they opened in April 2007 and really enjoy the whole environment there. I teach the 6:00 A.M. class Monday – Wednesday and Friday, and substitute as needed.

Sisson: BodyFlow™ Instructor
I currently teach BodyFlow™ at Total Fitness Gyms. I began at the gym by training with Phillip. When I began I was completely unfit and almost totally inactive. Through
Philip's careful mentoring, I was able to lose almost
35 pound and run two half marathons. Wanting to become more active with Dani and
Philips efforts at opening and expanding their new facility, I was encouraged by them to pursue a BodyFlow™ certification. I just can't get enough of the Les Mills programs. I encourage you to come to the gym to meet me and try my classes, because, as I always say, "If I can do it, so can you!"

Kim Peterson:
BodyCombat™ Instructor
In 2005, I began working out at a wonderful women's gym in town to lose the last of the weight I gained through marriage, having kids, and life in general. A little over a year ago, I took my passion for the group fitness classes further and became NETA (formerly NIDETA) certified. In
August 2007, I was introduced to Les Mills through Total
Fitness Gyms. I was hooked immediately! I was sure I wanted to take part in this journey, and I had always wanted
to learn kickboxing and martial arts, so the program would be BodyCombat™. I went to Combat training in September and have never been the same!
Three days of
hard core, rigorous physical training, mixed with education of
philosophy of safe and effective instructor teaching methods that participants love. Les Mills has changed the way I view group fitness, both in taking the classes and in teaching them. It has also made me more confident in other programs I teach. My life as a fitness instructor and person has been completely changed by these programs, and they can do the same for you! They will take you way beyond a "workout" and more on a journey of fitness that you never thought you could reach. "Keep it real, and stay with the
fight" Kia Kaha!

Lisa Pizzo:
Certified RPM Instructor
I am a certified RPM™ and BodyPump™
instructor. I've been teaching since 2003.
When I first entered the world of fitness, 18 years ago, it was to lose weight. Very quickly, I realized it was a way of life and a must to stay
healthy and SANE! As a mother of two, I know how hard it can be to get
to the gym and time for oneself! Therefore, my philosophy on fitness is,
you have got to have fun!

Coddington: Certified Spin Instructor
Some might say I’m a fitness fanatic! If I’m not
gettin’ my sweat on, I’m not happy! I enjoy sports of all kinds, but love running. I’ve completed several half and full marathons. I started strength training a few years ago with the help of a trainer and found my passion. I became certified as a personal trainer three years ago through
AFAA. It’s extremely gratifying helping people reach their fitness goals.
I’m also fortunate enough to be certified as a group fitness instructor. I teach
Bootcamp, TurboKick and Spinning around town. Here at Total Fitness, I teach Spinning on Wednesday nights. Never tried Spinning? I’d love for you to join me. I’ll put you on a road for the ride of your life! A seasoned indoor cyclist? Let’s hit your target heart rate with some cadence work and speed drills! Until then, work harder, be faster, get stronger!

Mark Lewis: Certified Spin Instructor
I have been a sports enthusiast and competed in sporting events for over 30 years. I was lucky enough to participate in the birth of “Triathlon” in the late ‘70s and raced competitively in hundreds of events for over two decades.
(ie. 1984 World Triathlon Championships, Nice France and the 1999 Florida Ironman) I have always had a passion for cycling, and this passion drove me to be a team member of the 1996 Race Across America (RAAM). I continue to enjoy cycling and have ridden in hundreds of cycling events across the nation including The Mount Mitchell Assault (22 years) and
LOTOJA (4 consecutive years). My training concept has always been: train with a goal, have a plan to achieve your goal, keep it simple and enjoy the journey.
